I'm leaving for my 7th trip across the water tomorrow morning. (since June 1st). Because I am going back to the US of A to get the family I felt I might not have time to update for a while so here is one for you...we are slowly making it through the summer. :)
Continuing on from recent blogs, I'll try to highlight the family's trip to Shanghai and our home.

One of the highlights of the trip was a traditional Chinese dumpling meal prepared by Ayi. She was meticulous in the way she made these as you can see by the pictures. Every dumpling is exactly the same. They were awesome and probably the best Chinese food experienced on the whole trip.

Shanghai is all about cosmopolitan, good food, good drink, and tons of shopping. In the picture below Sabrina's sister, Heather, is getting fitted at the fabric market. At the fabric market they will make anything for you. Bring your favorite pair of jeans and they'll make another pair for you. It just takes a couple of days and your new pants, suit, shirt, whatever is finished.

Even Caden and Ava like to shop if they can have a sucker.

On many of the streets around here this is a common site for dirt cheap prices.

As for good food....this picture was taken at our favorite Thai restaurant with is simply called "Simply Thai".

And cosmopolitan....well mom found a way to "be cool...be free".

The area that most people associate Shanghai with is called "The Bund". It is a very colonial looking area of Shanghai and most of the buildings on the Bund side of the river are from the early 1900's and of exquisite design. The Bund looks across the river to Pudong...which is

famous for the Pearl Tower and many other buildings that looked like they should be in the movie for the "Jetson's".
